A native of Joplin, Missouri, Jude Wolfe earned his Bachelor's in Music with Elective Studies in Media Production from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, under the tutelage of Dr. John Ross. He is now studying for his Master's in Composition at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, under Dr. Alex Yucheng Zhang. He began composing in his free time using digital audio software at the age of 13, taking up piano and other instruments shortly thereafter. Since then, he has written for orchestra, wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, choir, and chamber groups, all of which have been performed live. He also composed, performed on, and produced an album alongside fellow students with whom he formed a local seven-piece funk band, The Little Green Men. Jude maintained academic honors every semester during his undergraduate studies, won student awards in composition and non-traditional piano, received a Kansas Association of Broadcasters award in the field of college audio, and participated in local ensembles. Ensembles Jude has performed in include, among others, JOMO Jazz, Crossroads Jazz Orchestra, The Little Green Men, and the Pittsburg State University choirs, wind ensemble, and orchestra. At the age of 18, Jude had his theatrical directorial debut, directing and starring in a production of Twelve Angry Men at a local community theater, Stained Glass Theater Joplin. While at PSU, he worked as a crew member for the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts.
Jude is married, lives in the Johnson City area with his wife and cat, is an amateur birdwatcher, and aspires to compose for film and commercial projects while continuing his solo production efforts.
